Fly Free

On our third time collaboration with Candid Creations Publishing LLP, Design Workz embarked once again on the overall book design and layout for our client. Success is not only made up of repeating tried-and-tested measures, but also in learning something new with each new experience. Hence, it was made sure that the typeface and overall look and feel of the book was suitable to its content. There are also lively illustrations and quotes that make the whole reading experience an easy one.

Unlike the previous two books, the book is written is a light-hearted, narrative manner than recounts the author’s life in detail. It is particularly refreshing as it acts as an self-help book, but can be devoured like a storybook which gives an refreshing perspective, instead of other books which are harder to comprehend.

A quirky combination of psychology, religion, and just general facts about life – this book manages to condense all important lessons and provide direction for those who seek. It has also provided insight to Design Workz, and for that; we are deeply grateful.

Blossom Edugroup Brochure

Blossom Edugroup is made up of a chain of educational institutes catering for childcare services and preschool education. They pride themselves on the ability to maintain high standards and to provide an all-rounded curriculum for its students.

As part of their continual improvement, they enlisted Design Workz to come up with a new Brochure Design for them to be used in their upcoming event. While most might assume corporate brochures to be aesthetically dull and boring, this one will prove you wrong. Representative of Blossom Edugroup, the brochure is vibrant, dynamic and lively. It is made up of a myriad of different colours and illustrations with little text; not so typical of corporate brochures, but made to appeal all the same.

As like Blossom Edugroup which not only teaches, but inspires; Design Workz hopes for the same through our work. We take pride in our versatility and will definitely accede to requests to come up with a design that is tailor-made for you.

Kilowatts Engineering Logo Design

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

Good Branding and positioning is half the battle won, especially in industries where there are many players. Kilowatts Engineering & Construction Pte Ltd has recognized that fact in good time, and has sought out Design Workz’s assistance to come up with Logo Design.

Kilowatts-Stationery

One example of a company with exemplary branding would be Apple. Across nations, almost anyone would recognize the Apple logo on its products, even when the product catalogue is wide and varied. On top of recognizing the logo, there is an almost automatic association of its reputable brand name and quality of the products and services.

Similarly, Kilowatts’ has set out to establish proper branding of itself by standardizing the look and feel of the company through its business cards and stationery products like its letterhead and envelopes. Compared to larger companies, this might only be a small step forward, but is also an undeniably essential one. Design Workz is vigoured to have been able to aid Kilowatts Engineering & Construction Pte Ltd on their branding journey.

Football Association of Singapore Event

Monday, November 1st, 2010

Design Workz recently had the pleasure to undertake a project assigned by the Football Association of Singapore (FAS); their annual event – FAS Charity Golf Challenge (October 2010). The funds garnered from this cause will aid children from low-income families, helping women and youth develop talent in football, as well as providing transport for football-loving elderly citizens to the sporting stadiums.

Design Workz was crucial in publicity of the event as we had a role in the designing, printing as well as installation of the publicity material. The brochure was designed as such to be succinct yet accurately representative of FAS and appealing enough to attract visitors and donors. We also came up with a Stage Backdrop that was also used as the overall Event Backdrop, the large-scale standee was not only directive, but also prominent in attracting the curious.

Additionally, a sturdy Welcome Board was also designed by us and firmly set-up, acting as a backdrop where visitors of the event could take pictures for keepsake purposes, as it is indeed a memorable event for a good cause. Boards for the host sponsors were also erected in place where they tee-ed off and got a hole in one, proudly displaying the individual’s achievement.

FAS Stage Backdrop

We thank FAS for giving us the opportunity to be part of such a meritorious cause, and wish them success in their deeply laudable attempts to enrich the lives of the less fortunate through football.

Elderly Walking Aid Website

Monday, October 4th, 2010

In today’s day and age, it is evident that information is essential in our society. More and more companies are turning to online media as an alternative marketing platform. Elderly Walking Aid website has also recently hopped on the bandwagon, putting Design Workz in charge of their Web Update.

The website was given a whole new sunny outlook with useful information listing, paying attention particularly to the specification and details of the products. While one can access products in the physical store, having an online website creates convenience for the buyer – bearing in mind that the target audience is the elderly – saving on time and effort spent travelling could be a very big deal indeed. Also, buyers can trawl through the information on the website and make an informed choice before coming to a decision to purchase, all within discretion and at the comfort of their very own homes.

Design Workz is deeply gratified to have been able to be part of such a purposeful cause.

Coaching Cover

Design Workz was immensely gratified when we were approached again by Candid Creation Publishing LLP to work on the design and layout of their client’s book – Coaching In Asia. Of course, we readily acceded to their request as it was a pleasure working with them previously; and we expected this time to be no different.

Interestingly, the book is the combined literary effort of 12 authors, each well qualified with experience and wisdom gained from having lived or worked in Asia for many years. With the multiple perspectives provided, I am sure the reader would be able to find at least one suitable coaching technique that would emerge useful.

Yew Ming Website

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Design Workz was pleasantly surprised when approached by our client, Yew Ming Pte Ltd to help update their current website. What sets our client apart from many others in his industry is that our client has recognized the importance of online communication and the many doors of possibilities an online platform can open – also translating into more sales and profits.

The website was given a simple and clean look, with informational listing of the client’s products. Unlike usual websites which usually consist of a standard 5 or 10 pages, this website only has 3 pages.

National Healthcare Group Roll Up Banner

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

The word “banner” is derived from the Latin word bandum, and was further developed by the Germans to mean an official edict or proclaimation. Today, banners have evolved to mean anything displayed as a symbol, often regardless of material. Banners in present day are primarily used for advertising purposes and creating brand awareness.

Design Workz is delighted to be enlisted by the National Healthcare Group (NHG) to assist them in the design and printing of their Roll Up Banner. We sincerely hope that the Roll Up Banner has helped NHG create greater public exposure so that more people will comprehend their vital role in our society.

NHG Roll Up Banner

Roll Up Banners are lightweight, hence they are convenient to set-up/dismantle. Images and text on the banner are also of a good size and easy to see even from a distance, thus increasing visibility. Due to convenience of portability, it can even be strategically positioned to create an even greater impact. Protective layers like gloss or matt lamination is applied on to increase lifespan of the banner.

Banners can be used for exhibitions, marketing pitches, sales presentations, and retail displays. Prominent banners can also be used to guide people in the correct direction.

The success and effectiveness of a banner is very much determined by the design. Should you need more information on banners or wish to heighten effectiveness of your current banner, feel free to contact Design Workz. We are always ready to share more on our area of expertise.

The Latent Factors Book

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

TLF Cover

Recently, Design Workz had the pleasure of working with a publisher on his client’s book “The Latent Factors”. Design Workz was put in charge of the entire layout and cover design of the book. We are very honoured to be chosen to advise on our expertise, utilize our core services and help out in publication of the book. As said by the author himself, the best business models do not necessarily equate to innovation, but in understanding the customer and what they want.

That said, we worked closely in hand with the publisher to ensure that our end product is not only of satisfaction to them, but will also accurately represent them and help in promotion. The author says that business intelligence can come from anywhere, and picking up this book would be a good start-off point in transforming good ideas into great businesses.

We wish the author and The Latent Factors all the best!
